Supporting the MKL Community Outreach Programs

We are a community based organization that supports a variety of community outreach programs as well as supporting the "EDUCATION" of Students, less fortunate like the "HOMELESS" in the State of Hawai'i and supporting the crippling disease of "CANCER".

Our "EDUCATION" mission is to support the education of our youth as they become the future of Hawai`i as well as to emphasize the importance of awareness and the quality of life in education.  This education includes sharing the Cultural History and Various Arts within the State of Hawai`i.

Our 'CANCER" mission is to provide awareness and monetary support to a variety of individuals that have a range of this fatal illness.  The reason for this mission is because the founder had lost several loved ones like her grandfather, uncle, father-in-law and now her brother that currently has this crippling disease.

Our "HOMELESS" mission is to have our community understand that there are an increasing ratio of families in need and to provide some relief by means of everyday necessities.  H.O.P.E. (Help Our People Excel), by supporting these specific causes and arranging fund raising events through 'CREATIONS OF HAWAI'I" within our Community, we welcome any support by businesses, individuals, volunteers, or support from a variety of communities within the State of Hawai'i.

As for the homeless, the founder has lived in Hawai'i all her life and noticed there has been an increasing number of persons in Hawai'i that is now living in locations that are unsanitary.  What upsets the founder is that some businesses and organizations go out of our state to support these causes and has overlooked what is just in our back doors of our islands.

FOUNDERS ACKNOWLEDGMENT & SUPPORT

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of this Organization, I would like to personally acknowledge all of the participants and members that have supported our organization since 1991.  We especially welcome all of the new participants and members that just recently joined us in 2005.

I would like to give much aloha and mahalos to my husband, Larry for all of his support in these great causes and always being there as a loving and caring person in my life.  Especially being a great father to our son, Ka'eo. Larry and Ka'eo is a Founding Member of this Organization.

I would like to introduce my Hãnai Mãkua from Kailua-Kona on the Island of Hawai'‘i, Joseph and Dawn Castelli. They have been my inspiration to what ‘ohana really means and what the true meaning of unconditional love really represents in my ola. Me ke aloha a me mahalo nui loa.
It breaks my heart to say that my Hãnai Mãkua kane "Joseph Castelli" lost his battle with the crippling disease of cancer and passed way on May 19, 2013 in Kailua-Kona on the Island of Hawai`i.  It is with a blessing to know my Hãnai Mãkua wahine is still with us and doing her best to moving forward with the lost.

The final acknowledgment goes to my wonderful Aunties
"Lolita Ko" and  "Elsie Lee" for being there at every festival and event! Especially for being great supporters and they are the backbone of our organization, which they have provided lots of wisdom, values and maintaining the integrity of our foundation to what it has become today!
It is with great sadness to note that "Aunty Lolita Ko" passed away on July 25, 2011 and happy to say that "Aunty Elsie Lee" is still with us during our festival and events.
