INVITATION OF MEMBERSHIP
 
Your business is invited to participate in "Creations of Hawai'i", division of the Mela Kealoha-Lindsey Foundation - Invitation of Membership, which is a group of businesses affiliated with promoting and offering opportunities for professional growth through education of the cultural arts, specialty gifts and crafts.  Non-members are allowed to participate with an additional fee of $25.00 is required at every festival and specialty events.
 
As a member you have the option to participate in some of our many benefits of membership that include:
  • A three (3) line listing in our Membership roster
  • A invitation to participant in all festival and specialty events based on category specific guidelines
  • Exposure through Creations of Hawai'i advertising
  • Exposure to potential affiliation with a variety of community areas to promote your business
  • Exposure to potential affiliation with wholesale accounts for your businesses
  • "Louis & Lolita Ko" Artisan Scholarship for young children
  • Courtesy price structure on special business resources
  • The prestige of belonging to a unique organization of members that pledged to conduct business with the "Spirit of Aloha" in a fair and ethical manner
  • A quality member that supports our community by the means of such specific affiliations as "Cancer" and the "Homeless"
 
INVITATION OF MEMBERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
 
  • Mandatory and in person screening is required prior to acceptance of membership.
  • E-mail, website and/or photographs are not acceptable for screening.
  • Elections of current membership dues are as follows:
Semi-annual from January 1st through June 30th
Semi-annual from July 1st through December 31st
Annual from January 1st through December 31st
No prorating of any membership will be provided
  • All new and renewal membership applications is required to be fully completed with legible writing and submission of current copy of your State of Hawai'i General Excise Tax License.
  • All applicant's tax license should coincide with business name on the application
  • All membership payments and specialty event fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Should any checks be returned are subject to an automatic assessment fee of $30.00 for each check that is returned.  After a check is returned for the second time, the applicant is required to make necessary payments only with a cashier's check, money order or cash.

  • Any violations are subject to immediate termination of all membership and membership dues are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • If an applicant jeopardizes any festival or specialty event at anytime, we have the legal right to terminate further participation in their current event or any future event thereafter.
  • Should any legal action be required due to non-compliance of any and all written or verbal agreements by applicant; The applicant will be fully liable for all legal fees, collections and all necessary fees that are due to settle all matters.
 
MISSION STATEMENT
 
Our mission in our unique membership is made of a group of Artisans that are "TRULY MADE IN HAWAI'I" and of small size businesses which is affiliated in a variety of festivals and specialty events.  These events is to bring together businesses to promote and offer opportunities for professional growth through education of the cultural arts, specialty gifts and crafts, by the means of sharing positive ideas, to encourage with caring attitudes and with the "SPIRIT OF ALOHA" among members in dealings with the community.
 
STANDARDS OF MEMBERSHIP
Members shall:
  • Pay dues upon application for membership
  • All membership payments are due, prior to participating in any festival and specialty event.
  • All non-members are required to pay additional fee for all individual festival and specialty events prior to participating.
  • Comply with Federal, State and local laws pertaining to the cultural arts, specialty gifts and crafts industry.
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the organization and comply with "CREATIONS OF HAWAI'I", division of the Mela Kealoha-Lindsey Foundation's rules and procedures.
 
CODE OF ETHICS
Members shall:
  • Present yourself with a certain standard of professionalism.
  • Use factual information regarding your items when presenting it to the community, your clients and fellow members.
  • Deal with other members fairly and honestly, paying for their items and services in a timely manner.
  • Treat fellow members with courtesy and the "Spirit of Aloha".
  • Us factual, verifiable advertising and provide, upon request by "CREATIONS OF HAWAI'I", division of the Mela Kealoha-Lindsey Foundation, th evidence on which any advertising is based.
  • Refrain from making false or misleading statements about fellow members, their businesses, or their business practices.
  • Refrain from using your position with the organization to obtain unfair advantage over fellow members or potential members.
  • Should a member jeopardize any festival or specialty event for Creations of Hawai'i, division of the Mela Kealoha-Lindsey Foundation will be subject to immediate termination or decline to participate in any future venues.
